There could be a cannabis store set up in Kenora by the fall.
There were 94 local entries into a lottery system, through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, with one selected for the chance to apply for a licence.
The winning bid for the Kenora region, who now has August 28th to apply for the license, is from Carl Ignatius.
Ignatius has proposed 420 Second Street South as the address for the new retail location should his application be successful.
The only other licence up for grabs in northwestern Ontario is in Thunder Bay.
