Federal funding through FedNor for the Township of Ignace to help drive economic development and tourism in the area.
Kenora MP Bob Nault recently presented 94 thousand 5 hundred dollars to the community to develop an investment and capacity-building master plan.
The plan will support three key components which include economic development and tourism strategies and will also help with completing a community capacity study.
Nault says “the positive impacts of this investment will extend far beyond Ignace and ripple throughout the region as we continue making the North even stronger.”
He also says “families and businesses in the Township of Ignace will benefit from future job creation, long-term growth and a strong economic outlook.”
Ignace Mayor Don Cunningham says “Once complete, the master plan will help in ensuring our community continues to be a great place to live, work, play and do business.”
Cunningham also thanks the federal government “for recognizing the unique needs of our community by investing to strengthen the social and economic outlook of the Township of Ignace.”
