The leader of the newly formed People’s Party of Canada is not being invited to take part in the upcoming federal election leaders debates.
The Leaders Debate Commission says the party, with leader Maxime Bernier, has not met the criteria established when the commission was formed four years ago.
It also doesn’t think the People’s Party of Canada has a legitimate shot at electing more than one candidate in October.
Debates this year will be held in English on October 7th, with the French-language one taking place October 10th.
