In loving memory of Stanley Pollock, born July 28, 1938, who passed away unexpectedly in the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 7th.
Stan is survived by his wife Manon, his children: Richard of Toronto, and Bradley (Cheryl) of Cochrane, ON, Randy of Dryden, Karen (Ron) Furioso of Thunder Bay, and Kerry Easter of Dryden, by step-children: Anita and Ian (Angie) Reid both of Ottawa, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Elaine Pollock of Nanaimo, BC, Ivan (Susan), Lorne (Debbie) Pollock, Linda Brandt, Darlene (Bob) Chawrun and Harvey (Isabel) Pollock all of Dryden, sister-in-law Lynn Pollock (Arnold) of Dryden as well as numerous other family members.
He was predeceased by his parents Tom and May Pollock, brother Ron Pollock and great-nephew Tristen Wise.
Stan loved playing music on his steel guitar and singing, picking blueberries, camping, fishing, darts and cards. He was always competitive when he played baseball. Stan owned many businesses over the years including Stan’s Bakery, gravel trucks, Pollock’s Scrap Metal, the limousine and taxi business and many more through his working life.
His great joy was his love of Buddy, a Shitzu that he took care of for his sister Darlene. Buddy loved to sit and play with Stan and especially when Stan played the steel guitar. He truly missed Buddy when he passed away.
Stan was a Jack of All Trades, master of some and gave his all to everything he turned his hand to. He will be truly missed.
A Memorial Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Stan Pollock will be held Friday, August 16th at 1:00 p.m. in Branch #63 of the Royal Canadian Legion with Mardi Plomp officiating.
Interment of ashes will follow in the Oxdrift Cemetery.
