After a courageous battle with cancer, the family wishes to announce, on June 30, 2019, Ellen Louise Nippert has gone to be with her creator.
Louise is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Gunter; her children, Fritz (Joanne) of Winnipeg, MB, and Irene (Mark) of Cook, MN; her 5 grandchildren, Christian, Jessica and Danielle Nippert of Winnipeg, MB, and Ryan and Erik Jaeger of Dryden, ON; great grandchildren Lily Zueff Nippert and Declan Nippert of Winnipeg, MB, and also her special son in law, Tony Jaeger (Diana) of Dryden, ON. Louise is also survived by her siblings, Shirley Desaulnier (Dan) of Sarnia, ON, Linda Wickman of Keewatin, ON, Jim Smith of Thunder Bay, ON, Libby Bond (Gary) of Ayr, ON, and special cousin Geraldine Harrison of Dryden, ON. She also leaves many cousins, nephews and nieces to cherish her memory.
Louise was predeceased by her parents, John Alto and Irene Favel; brother Jack Alto; paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Alto, and maternal grandparents, Tom and Margaret Favel.
A traditional native ceremony was held for Louise on Monday, July 8 at the Wabigoon Metis Cultural Centre with burial to follow at the Wabigoon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Louise’s memory.
