The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry have confirmed four new forest fires yesterday afternoon.
Red Lake Fires 61 and 62 are both being observed with 61 located 33 kilometres northeast of Keewaywin at 0.1 hectares.
Red Lake 62 is 129 hectares and located in Opasquia Provincial Park.
Sioux Lookout fire 44 is 34 kilometres east of Pickle Lake and is not under control at 0.1 hectares which is the same size as Sioux Lookout fire 45 which is 35 kilometres northwest of Pickle Lake.
There are 32 active fires in the Northwest Region. Five of these fires are not under control, two fires are being held, five fires are under control and 20 fires are being observed.
The forest fire hazard in the region ranges from low to moderate in the Kenora, Dryden and Thunder Bay sectors. Hazard conditions in the Fort Frances, Red Lake and Sioux Lookout sectors are mainly high to moderate.
