It was a quiet weekend on the forest fire front, with no new starts reported.
The hazard currently sits at low to moderate across much of the region, but it’s expected to increase with hot and dry conditions in the forecast for the rest of the week.
The hazard is high in the Thunder Bay and Nipigon Districts.
The blaze near Keewaywin is listed at 96,535 hectares but is now considered as under control.
The fire near Pikangikum is at 44,541 hectares and is being held, with 30 crews working on it,
The blaze about 40-kilometres north of Red Lake is being held at 30,212 hectares in size.
