Keewaywin First Nation is preparing to return evacuated community members to their homes this week.
They have been displaced for about a month and have been staying in various communities including Sioux Lookout.
The blaze is still considered not under control at 96,535 hectares but crews have made great progress on the fire.
Firefighters are now extinguishing hot spots and sprinkler systems are being taken down.
13, four person crews, remain on scene.
