For 15 consecutive years, members of the Dryden Genealogical Society have hosted “Spirit Walks” at the Dryden Cemetery to share stories about some of Dryden’s pioneers and characters.
Tuesday evening, some two dozen guests spent an hour learning about Dryden Observer Reporter Fred Marshall, Dr. William Wigle and several others.
Club Member Will Vermeer noted it’s a labor of love for the Genealogical group which spends hours researching each subject. The group has amassed over a hundred stories over the years and typically adds another 10 or 12 annually.
An encore presentation of the 2019 ‘Spirit Walk” is set for Thursday evening at 7. There is no charge, but attendees are welcome to contribute to a silver collection toward club projects.
This Saturday morning, members of the Genealogical Society will host an “Ask a Genealogist” session at the Dryden library to answer questions from anyone who wants to know more about researching their family trees.
The Dryden Genealogical Society meets monthly from September through May.
