Former Red Lake Miners Head Coach Derek Sweet-Coulter is heading back to B.C.
The Victoria native has been named Assistant Coach and Assistant GM of the Merritt Centennials of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League.
Centennials Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff says Sweet-Coulter brings a wealth of experience to the organization.
Wolff adds his professionalism, passion and experience will be a strong asset for their team.
Sweet-Coulter spent four seasons with Red Lake and was the SIJHL Coach of the Year last season.
He guided the Miners to two Bill Salonen Cup Finals.
He was also an assistant for Team Canada West at the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge in 2017 and 2018 where he won gold and bronze respectively.
