The areas ambulance service provider has been strengthened with the hiring of a full-time Quality Assurance Superintendent.
The Kenora District Services Board has hired Tarran Sawh for the position.
Andrew Tickner is the Director and Chief of Northwest EMS and he says Sawh will help identify service delivery gaps and find new and innovative ways to improve the service.
“Without having somebody dedicated to it, usually we are responding after things have happened. This way, hopefully, we can prevent things by having somebody looking at things all the time, as opposed to us being a bit reactionary.”
Tickner says they will be able to better support their paramedics, provide the highest quality of care to patients and meet their legislated requirement as an Ambulance Service provider in Ontario.
Tickner adds the new addition will help draft new policies, identify trends and help the KDSB with training, equipment needs and staffing needs.
