The Dryden Regional Health Centre has released its 2018-2019 final Annual Report.
The document outlines hospital statistics from the past year as well as operational success stories.
Chief Executive Officer Doreen Armstrong-Ross says “It just gives the community a picture of what is going on at the hospital and we are partners in care with our community. So it’s very important that everyone is aware of what our focus is, what our strategic plan is.”
Armstrong-Ross says they were able to offer new services thanks to funding and partnerships.
She says they now have an Opiod Case Manager and a Housing Case Manager.
Armstrong-Ross notes they were able to introduce a new Hospice and Palliative Care service that focuses on relieving and preventing suffering for patients living with life-threatening or limiting illness.
She says they were also able to hire a Care Navigator and Health Coach to work with high-risk patients living with complex health care needs.
One highlight was the hospital receiving Exemplary Standing with Accreditation Canada as well as Pharmacy and Laboratory Accreditation.
They also exceeded the Ontario Small Hospital average for inpatient care “Would You Recommend this Hospital” scoring 80.5% (Small Hospital average 75.9%) and in Emergency Care scoring 69%. (Small Hospital average 68.5%).
The document does report a small operating deficit of $148,561 for the year.
