Despite sporadic thunder showers, Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for Dryden and several other communities in our area.
Daytime high temperatures will be near 29 degrees with humidex values near or above 36 in Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Ignace, Kenora and Fort Frances.
Overnight low temperatures will remain near or above 18 degrees, which will not provide much relief from the heat.
There is a chance these hot conditions will continue on Tuesday with cooler air is expected Tuesday night.
Extreme heat affects everyone.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place.
