Most of Sunset Country had an extra long ‘bath’ last night. Mother Nature decided to clean up the area by way of – some would say – a ‘torrential’ late evening downpour.
The ‘build the ark now’ rainfall was welcomed by those communities and firefighters battling nearby fores fires. They won’t complain. Will you?
I did my part – inadvertantly – to help provide more moisture yesterday. After months of not having an outdoor garden hose roll-up attatched to my house – I finally got it done Thursday afternoon! A proud moment of installation! Yeah I’m not good with fixing things so it was a moment to remember. It’s just to bad I didn’t remember to complete the job.
Hose roll-up attached to the house wall? Check! Garden hose attached to the roll-up? Check! Test water flow? Check! All working great!! I did it! A proud moment of success yesterday afternoon.
I went to bed last night as the rain started and thought – ‘Wow!! That’s a lot of water. I won’t need to use the hose for the garden anytime soon. But at least it’s ready.’
As I left the house this morning for work I glanced over at my handy work from yesterday. There it was. Looking good and still attached to the house! It had not fallen off. Then I realized to my horror two things about the job being incomplete. One – I forgot to attach the nozzle to the hose. Two – after the water flow test……I had forgotten to turn off the tap.
You can thank me today for the extra mositure on the ground and in the air.
Water – it’s wet.
