Provincial Police stress the Amber Alert program continues to be an instrumental tool in assisting both the public and police with locating an abducted child who may be in danger.
OPP are responding to complaints regarding the new alert system, with Ontario residents getting loud messages on their smart phones.
The latest came very early Thursday morning, when two kids were reported missing in the York Region.
They were quickly located.
OPP say calling 911 or police is not an appropriate venue to complain.
So far this year, there have been five amber alerts activated which led to four safe returns of children and one apprehension of a suspect.
