The first group of fire evacuees from Pikangikum First Nation have arrived in Thunder Bay.
Kasper Transportation was hired to move roughly 200 people from the airport to area hotels Tuesday night following the arrival of two Hercules planes.
Sales Manager Richard Kehrig says efforts are being made to ease the burden across the region, noting some evacuees will be shifted to other centres to avoid pressures.
This is the second time the Lakehead has acted as a host community within a month.
Kehrig says everyone he has talked to has been grateful for their support.
Dryden and Red Lake continue to serve as Transportation Hubs.
