Work includes pulverizing and repaving the runway, redoing all of the taxiways, expanding the apron and replacing runway lights.
The $10-million project is fully funded by the Federal government.
Manager Duane Riddell says they will be basically closed for about three weeks.
Riddell says they will be able to accommodate aircraft every Monday night, all day Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
He says this is in order to help some of their northern communities and the transportation of fresh produce as well as the big Mine change-over aircraft.
Bearskin Airlines is running a shuttle service from Dryden to Red Lake during the closed periods to help ease pressures.
Riddell admits it’s an interesting schedule but stresses they want to try and make everyone happy.
