The union which represents nurses in the country is out with its list of concerns ahead of the October federal election.
Josette Roussel, of the Canadian Nurses Association, is demanding all parties include a pharmacare program in their platforms.
Roussel says “All people across Canada, especially those who are vulnerable, require affordable access to prescription medications. Implementing prescription drug coverage will reduce inequities in Canada.”
The Association also wants all Canadians connected to the Internet, which will allow those in rural or remote areas to receive online care.
She adds “The Federal government has a leading role to play in ensuring the health care sector is well prepared for the negative health effects of climate change.”
