The Northwest Community Legal Clinic is once again raising concerns about the future of services in our area.
Executive Director Trudy McCormick says a review of community legal clinics is underway and she is worried with the possible elimination of legal clinics and a loss of a local voice to how services are delivered.
She adds there’s already some services that Legal Aid won’t cover any more.
McCormick says they have also been told to no longer do legal reform work or community development work such as local homelessness efforts.
She is encouraging local residents to speak up and voice their concerns with their MPP.
Legal Aid Ontario has seen a funding reduction of 1.5%.
