The Keewatin Patricia District School Board is out with its 2019-2024 Strategic Plan.
The vision of the public school board is putting students first by creating a culture of learning.
Superintendent of Human Resources and Special Education Joan Kantola says the strategy focuses on seven key areas; “students coming first, high standards, partnerships, inclusiveness, digital citizenship, student achievement, mental health as well as innovation in the classroom.
Kantola says the strategy is geared towards student achievement, safe schools and innovative changes.
She notes one of the priorities is ensuring all schools and staff are actively engaged in responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
Kantola adds it’s now a senior staff responsibility to ensure all goals are fully implemented.
