Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout are reporting a pursuit involving a woman from Winnipeg.
Police say on Sunday at around 12:17pm they were dispatched to a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 642 about 10 kilometers east of Sioux Lookout.
Police then say the driver was driving fast and erratically and throwing garbage out of their window.
OPP say when they turned on their lights and sirens and tried to stop the vehicle, the driver still continued and did not stop as they drove through downtown Sioux lookout.
Police say the driver then drove through the access gate to the Airport and drove up the taxiway where they exited the moving vehicle as it crashed in an open field between the runway and the airport.
As a result of investigations, police say 34-year-old Tiffany Chandell Huebert of Winnipeg, Manitoba faces a long list of charges including:
-Dangerous Operation (7 Counts)
-Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm
-Failure to Stop after an Accident
-Flight from Peace Officer
– Theft of Motor Vehicle
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
-Mischief Under $5,000 (4 counts)
-Hijacking Deviate From Flight Plan
-Damaging or interfering with navigation facility
-Enter on land on which a line work is situated
The driver is being held in custody and has a bail hearing set for today to answer to the charges.
