The MPP for Kiiwetinoong believes the Ford government is more interested in pushing the sale of beer instead of ensuring every First Nation community has clean drinking water.
Sol Mamakwa says he vows to continue to advocate for the people in his riding saying many First Nation communities in his riding continue to be on boil water advisories, and have been for years.
Mamakwa adds his private members bill on the issue is before the committee, but has been stalled from third reading by the government.
The NDP critic for Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation notes despite living in one of the wealthiest regions in the world, those 13 First Nations communities can’t drink the water.
As the government is busying themselves in buck-a-beer, beer in corner stores & tailgating, we just want clean drinking water in some communities in Kiiwetinoong.
