It may seem hard to believe, but a new hockey season is right around the corner.
And that means it’s time to sharpen your skills with the Dryden Hockey School, scheduled for August 19th to 23rd at the Memorial Arena.
Head Instructor Randy Allen was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show today (Wednesday) and he says this year they are celebrating a special anniversary.
The camp has been running for ten years.
Earlybird registration is being offered until the end of June, but you sign-up at any time before the camp.
To take part, visit or call the Dryden Recreation Complex Pool Desk.
Allen says the camp is open to all skill levels.
“We don’t hold anybody back. If you’re new to the game, this is a great opportunity to come out and learn at a level where we can teach you. We have a lot of instructors on the ice helping everybody that we can and if someone needs individuals attention, we will give it to them.”
Allen adds they focus on the skills of the game; skating, shooting, passing and some checking skills as well.
He notes they also introduce some team concepts at the higher levels.
Allen says sessions include significant on-ice time, off-ice activities, dryland training and fun events.
The camp is open to both Boys and Girls.
Divisions include: (Ages)
Rookie-(8 and Under)
Intermediate-(9 to 11)
Senior-(12-14)
