In loving memory of Anne Doreen Harder (nee Santanen), who passed away on Monday June 10th, 2019 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre with her family by her side.
Anne is survived by her loving and devoted husband Diedrich (Dick) of almost sixty years, her sons Richard (Linda) and Rod (Heidi), grandchildren Kyle, Derek, Kristin (Jared), Jill (Andrew), Nick (Liz) and great-grandchildren Emerson, Bennett, Gunnar and Nash. She is also survived by her sisters Edith, Mary, Helen and Cathy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Fanny and Harry Santanen and her sister Bertha. Anne grew up in the Blue Lake area where she learned a strong work ethic while living on the farm. She loved to tell stories of how much fun she would have with her sisters playing in the barn and her memories made at Quibell School. Anne loved her family more than anything. She spent many years camping with her children and then eventually her grandchildren all over Northwestern Ontario. She went on camping adventures from the East to the West Coast; among her favorites was her trip to Alaska. She was very proud of her Finnish heritage and was able to fulfill one of her dreams and travel to Finland.
Anne was one of the best grandmas, never missing a hockey game, baseball game or school concert. She loved to brag about her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she never let anyone leave her house without a full belly and a big hug.
