The provincial government is looking at an overhaul of a major funding program for our region.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford believes the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund is undersubscribed in this area.
Speaking to regional leaders in Dryden, Rickford asked “How are we working with our community partners to do better? And is the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund serving our communities and businesses the right way?”
The Northern Development Minister hints a new look Fund will make recreational infrastructure upgrades eligible for funding.
Rickford notes the government is still seeking feedback on how to improve the program.
