Beer and wine will soon be offered at select corner stores in Ontario.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford says legislation allowing the sales passed at Queen’s Park late last week.
Rickford says “I think it’s time to make that the next important step and to, for a certain extent, get the government out of the way on this and let people have access to beer and spirits as they do anywhere else in North America.”
He doesn’t foresee any consequences from the decision, noting it’s been well received and a great opportunity for the province.
The approval means a contract with the Beer Store has been cancelled.
