The Dryden Yacht Club is partnering with Sail Manitoba to offer Junior Sailing lessons.
Trained experts will be hosting the sessions from July 2nd until the 6th.
Peter Marshall and Bonny Skene were guests on the CKDR Morning Show today (Friday) to promote the program.
Skene says there will be two opportunities to participate; a Morning Session (9:00am-Noon) and an Afternoon Session (1:00pm-4:00pm)
She adds the program is open to young sailors aged 6-16.
Skene stresses no experience is needed and the certified instructors provide the boats, equipment and everything needed to take part.
Marshall says the goal is to get the younger generation interested in the sport.
Marshall says “the benefits of sailing are long and includes patience, responsibility, sportsmanship, confidence. It’s also a lot of fun and we hope that young people in the community take up this fantastic opportunity to learn how to sail.”
