Roberta Frances Grebstad (nee Roach), 72, of Dryden, Ontario, passed away suddenly at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on the 26th of May, 2019. The beloved wife and mother is survived by her husband Harvey, 73, and her sons David, 45, and Don, 40.
Roberta was born in Kenora, Ontario to Donald and Dorothy Roach (nee Kerr) on the 26th of September 1946. She attended Lakehead Teacher’s College in Port Arthur graduating in June, 1966. After graduation she began her teaching career in Dinorwic, Ontario. Later she moved to Dryden where she spent a career of over forty years teaching young children at a variety of schools in the Dryden area, spending many years at Hillcrest Public School. She met Harvey in 1967 and the two were wed at St. Alban’s Church in Kenora on the 15th of August, 1970. They initially settled on Pitt Avenue in Dryden but moved to their long term home on Kellar Road in Oxdrift in 1983.
The celebration of life service will be held at Oxdrift Hall at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, 5 June 2019. All are welcome. Doors will open at 1:00 pm and a come and go tea will follow the service until 3:00 pm.
Interment will be held in Kenora a later date.
