A Manitoba man has been fined $1,200 for fishing for walleye during the closed season on Shoal Lake.
Court heard that Leslie Colmer was initially stopped on August 19th, 2017 and was warned about targeting walleye out of season.
Colmer was again spotted a couple of weeks later fishing from a boat.
The angler caught and released three walleye, then caught and retained one.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says Shoal Lake has a sensitive walleye population and is closed to walleye fishing year-round.
