The Kenora District Services Board is looking at a bit of a cash windfall.
The provincial government is providing an additional 13 million dollars to the base budget of the board this year.
Barry Baltesson is the chair of the board and says the government is providing a big increase in funding for social housing
projects such as the Homeward Bound project and housing in Sioux Lookout as well.
Baltesson says there is extra cash this year for land ambulence service and the Kenora base will be getting an extra crew to help deal with
an increase in the number of calls for service as well as Sioux Lookout.
He mentions the increase in land ambulance service is to help with the aging of the population.
