The number of forest fires burning in northwestern Ontario is on the decline.
There are currently 59-active fires in the region.
There were nine new fires confirmed between September 8th and 11th.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the new starts were a mixture of human and lightning caused fires in the Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Kenora and Fort Frances districts.
Meantime, the province continues to provide support to outside provinces.
There are 259 personnel in British Columbia, 21 in Manitoba and 14 in Alberta.
Additional crews will be sent to B.C. on Tuesday.
