In loving memory of Paul Emile Matte, age 90 years who passed away in the Dryden Regional Health Center on Wednesday, August 9th.
Paul Matte is remembered by his children: Daniel Matte (Donna) of Sault Ste Marie, Reginald Matte (Laura) of Thunder Bay, Luc Matte (Margaret) of Sault Ste Marie, Paul Matte (Debbie) of London, Real Matte (Bonnie) of Thunder Bay, Leoniel Matte (Christine) of Sault St. Marie, Cecile Kastrukoff (Vince) of Dryden, Lucie Matte of Thunder Bay, Monique Barrow (Matthew) of Ear Falls and Richard Matte (Patricia) of Calgary, by 17 grandchildren: Jason, Christopher, Steven (deceased), John-Paul, Robert, Deborah, Sarah, Natalie, Bradley, Lance, Jamie-Leigh, Natasha, Chelsea, Jacqueline, Hannah, Celine and Kourtney, 24 great grandchildren, his brothers Gerry (Rita), William, Joe and Roger Matte and sister Rose Matte (Raymond) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A hardworking man, Paul was always known to be happy. He loved playing his harmonica, enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He especially loved sports including wrestling and boxing but his favorite was hockey and his team was the Montreal Canadians.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Paul Matte will be held Monday, August 21st at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Alan Campeau officiating. Interment of ashes will take place in Thunder Bay at a later date.
