Roy Brisson
May 1, 1931 – December 16, 2016
It is with heavy but grateful hearts that this ever loving Brisson family say good-bye to Roy. He was the devoted, loving husband to his “love” Jane, wonderful, fun-loving dad to Chris, Debbie, Cheryl and Nancy and a myriad of “extras” including our sister Gailey, Heather and Tom. His “blue-eyed” girls Charlene, Sandra and those “rotten Trist kids” Darlene, Cindy and our Neecie. There is not enough words to describe the love story that was between our mom and dad. It stood as an incredible example to all who knew them.
Mom and Dad had a very special relationship with all their grand kids, but our “Kell-bell” loved them and cared for them with unending devotion for many years and they adored her; along with her irreplaceable husband David.
Dad was a phenomenal Grampa to Chris’s girls Kelly, Brandi (Tarzan) and Ashley (Varmint) and their children, Allison (Allie-oop) and her sons Kipton, Andrew (Andrew Jackson), Makenzie, Danica and her daughter Hailey, Brayden, Sha-Lynn and Logan, Cheryl’s children Erin (Critter) and Duke, Kailey and their children, Jane (Baby Jane “BJ”) Autumn and Dorothy and Nancy’s girls Susie (Little Sam) Laura (little Smoke) and Laura’s daughter Danny.
Mom and Dad met as teenagers in Dryden and married following Dad’s service in Korea. Dad worked as a pipe fitter in the paper mill in Dryden for his entire working career and he spent this money on making Mom and his family happy. The fun we used to have as a family was awesome. Camping, hunting, ice fishing and just being together with his brothers and his children and nieces and nephews was all he needed. Our very large, boisterous family could always be found (and heard) all together at the camp on the Wabigoon or at our beloved “Trap line”, playing guitars around the fire and singing Johnny Cash songs. Dad always said, “The greatest gift a father can give his children is to love their mother” and he surely did that!
Dad has only one surviving sister, Auntie Hazel and the losses of all his brothers, our Deb and Chris was his greatest sorrow.
To say that we who loved him will miss him is a huge understatement. He was a legend and one of the greatest men who ever lived.
We, his family, would first like to thank the amazing staff at Princess Court for the genuine love and care you showered on our Papa. They went above and beyond and took such good care of all of us as we sat with our Dad on his journey. Dr. Mike was an unending source of support for Dad and we appreciate him so much. Matt at Stevens funeral homes was wonderful as well.
Dad has been cremated and we will have a Memorial Funeral Service to celebrate Roy’s life at a later date.

Happy travels our Papa. We know that you have been reunited with Chris, Deb and all your brothers and are up there “smiling a great smile” until we meet again.
