The Kenora District Services Board will be spending more money in 2015.
The Board has approved a $38.5-million budget, up 1.68% from last year.
Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall says they are able to make some improvements after securing more money from the provincial government.
The Board is putting an extra $150,000 in reserves for affordable housing initiatives.
This will bring the special purpose reserve for new housing to $783,000.
Capital investment in the Housing Services building renewal plan will total $1.9-million this year.
The KDSB has also allocated $386,000 for emergency services equipment and ambulance renewal.
Wall notes service levels are being maintained and they didn’t see any major change in Ontario Works and Ontario Disability caseloads.
