At the age of 93 Effie peacefully passed away at Princess Court with family by her side. Effie was born in Dryden, Ontario and was raised in Eton-Rugby.
Effie enjoyed her many years of retirement in her home in Vermilion Bay, Ontario. She cherished her time with her dear friends, keeping busy with the bus trips to Dryden, the Happy Go Lucky seniors group, knitting, crocheting, crosswords, puzzles, playing cards, her yard, her flowers and her rhubarb.
Effie was employed with the CPR bunkhouse for many years. Still recently we meet CPR employees that remember Effie, filling us with great pride. Everyone who knew Effie describes her as a very sweet lady, never complaining nor negative.
Pre-deceased by her parents Karl & Eva Larsen, husband Lennox Brooks (1968), son Reginald Lennox Brooks (1999), grandson Wayne Charles Brooks (2007).
Survived by son Donald Wayne Brooks (Carol), daughter Elaine Roy (Francis), grandchildren Donna Roy, Diedra Roy, Chris Jobson (Christine), Diana Roy-Korkola (Dale), Reginald Brooks (Lorraine), Dina Roy, great grandchildren Mitchell Bisson (Amanda & soon to be born great great grandchild), Brendan White, Nicholas Vardon, Kylee White, Cody Veitch, Sioux Brooks, Bryton Jobson, Jayden Veitch , Tanner Jobson and Dana Brook Korkola, sisters Irene Crawford (Brandon, Manitoba), and Ruth Larsen (Brandon, Manitoba).
Effie enjoyed absolutely every moment with her family.
