Kenora-Patricia Child and Family Services and Family and Children’s Services of Rainy River District are hoping the Provincial Government will come up with the $2-million needed to
complete the merger of the 2-agencies.
The Organizations confirmed their amalgamation plans today (Thursday).
Bill Leonard will be the Executive Director of the new Agency and says while no jobs will be lost, they still have to deal with some labour issues.
Sharon Sippolo is the chair of the Kenora-Patricia Family Services Board and believes the merger will be good for both sides.
Bob McGreavy is the Chair of the Family and Children’s Services of Rainy-River and says they expect to be able to save about $500,000 a year with the merger.
Its estimated that the merger will cost about a $1-million to complete and the Province is also being asked to erase a $900,000 accumulated deficit of Family and Children’s
Service Rainy-River.
The amalgamation is expected to be complete as of April 1st, 2011.
