Contract talks between the Rainy River District School Board and the Union representing its High School teachers have broken off.
School Board Chair Gord McBride notes an impasse between the 2 sides brought negotiations to a halt Thursday.
McBride adds the School Board offered teachers a 3% wage hike but the Union wanted 5%.
McBride adds no further talks have been scheduled but notes the School Board is willing to return to the negotiation table to try and work out an agreement.
The Teacher Union is expected to meet over the weekend to discuss its next course of action.
