The federal government is considering a national program for native groups wanting to educate themselves about diabetes.
And it is taking a close look at the Dryden-based Healing Trail Program, which serves the same purpose in this region.
Healing Trail Coordinator Vicki Scherban says the program has received overwhelming support from the federal government.
At the same time, Scherban says Health Canada has put forth recommendations for improvement which are being considered by the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
