More than 170-residents of Keewaywin are being allowed to return home.
Keewaywin Deputy Chief Joe Meekis and the Ministry of Natural Resources have determined the fire situation near the remote First Nation has eased.
Evacuees staying in Sioux Lookout will be able to return home Thursday morning.
Sioux Lookout declared a state of emergency last week in order to accommodate the influx of people.
The emergency order will remain in place until all evacuees have returned home and emergency services in Sioux Lookout are demobilized.
The town expects to lift the order on Sunday.
