In loving memory of Gordon Edward Singbeil, age 73 of Dryden, who passed away on Saturday February 16, 2002 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre. Mr. Singbeil was born in Winnipeg, Mb. on July 17, 1928. Spending his early years in Manitoba he attended school in both Winnipeg and Beausejour. Upon moving to Dryden he was employed at the Dryden Paper Mill until 1949. At this time he moved to Trail B.C. where he was employed at Cominco Smelter Industries until 1962. Returning to Dryden in 1962 he was involved in the logging industry as well as working at the Dryden Paper Mill, finishing room until 1978. Subsequently, Gordon worked at Electolux until his retirement. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose for many years. His other interests were curling, bowling, fishing and playing cards. Gordon Singbeil is survived by his close personal friend Olga Woitowicz; his son Wayne (Byllie) Singbeil of Hinton Alberta; Wendy (George) Delanghe of Long Beach, California; Donna (Brent) Johnson of Dryden; Joan (Gary) Munro of Victoria, B.C.; Trissy Singbeil of Prince George, B.C.; brothers Ralph (Lorraine) Singbeil of Winnipeg; Buddy Singbeil of B.C; sister Jean Duncan of Winnipeg; sisters Violet Browning of Delta, B.C.; Frances Fingerson of B.C.; Joyce Epps of Calgary; stepmother Alvina, 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Douglas, father Edward Singbeil, sister Alice Bowes and birthmother Emily Singbeil in 1932. At Gordon’s request there will be no visitation. Funeral Services for the late Gordon Singbeil will be held on Wednesday February 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Church with Rev. Mary Mennell officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment of ashes at a later date in Fruitville, B.C.
