In loving memory of Joseph (Joe) Parker who passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on Sunday November 4, 2001 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre. Joe is survived by his wife of 49 years Sidonie, his children Maryann Baxter (Perry) of Dryden, and Bob Parker (Donna) of Dryden, 4 grandchildren, Joseph Baxter, Brenda Wessel (Stephen), Michelle Parker and Robbie Parker, 2 great grandchildren Taira Wessel and Miriah Roulston. Joe is also survived by his brothers Jack of Dryden, Alfred of Dryden, Reg of Thunder Bay and Eric of Oxdrift. Joe was predeceased by his father William Parker in 1983 and his mother Susan Shaw in 1987 as well as a brother, Robert in 1949. Joe was born in Oxdrift on November 22nd, 1929 where he attended Pine Grove School. He worked for numerous farmers in his younger years then went to work for CNR. Following that he worked at St. Regis Paper Company and finished his working with the Dryden Paper Mill for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He was also a legion member at branch #63 for 30 years and a member of the 25-year club. Joe’s family was his life and his pride and joy. A funeral service for the late Joseph Parker will be held at the Stevens Funeral Home “Moffat Chapel” at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday November 8, 2001 with Rev Jody Miles officiating. Interment will follow in the Oxdrift Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the “Moffat Chapel”.
