Ursula Kosik
April 17, 1939 – August 25, 2017
In loving memory of Ursula Elisabeth Kosik, age 78, who passed away surrounded by love on August 25th, 2017.
Ursula was born in 1939 to Willy and Gertrud Drechsler in Weissbach, Germany. Willy relocated to Canada first and in 1953 Ursula made the journey with her mother and two sisters, Edelgard (deceased) and Inge Desautels. Settling first near Edmonton, Alberta and eventually in Dryden,
the family owned and operated Drechsler’s Poultry Farm.
Ursula met Alphonse Kosik while he was working on the local pipeline.
They were married in 1959 and went on to have three children, Sheila (Jim), Janet (Gerry) and Ronald (Barb).
Forever a farm girl at heart, there were always animals around. Countless hours were spent on the water at Lorne Lake and when she wasn’t hauling in her big catch you could find her in her garden or in the kitchen cooking, baking and canning.
Her greatest accomplishment was becoming a Grandma and the love that she had for her grandchildren is something that Amber (Tom), Allison (Scott), Samantha, Ryan (Claudia), Chelsea and Kyle (Taylor) will cherish for the rest of their lives.
A Memorial Funeral Service to celebrate Ursula’s life will be held Thursday, August 31st, 2107 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Saviour Lutheran Church with Pastor James Wood officiating.
Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.
If friends desire donations may be made to DRHC CT Scan Fund through the Stevens Funeral Homes P.O. Box 412, Dryden ON P8N 2Z1.
