This is Crime Prevention Week and Dryden Police are taking the time to launch their ‘Lock It or Lose It’ campaign.
Community Services Officer Denise Szachury says officers will be patrolling area streets to ensure all vehicles are locked up.
Officers will be putting a piece of paper on your windshield telling you the date, time, name of officer and whether or not your vehicle was properly secured.
Szachury reminds vehicle owners to keep valuables out of sight, ensure keys aren’t in the ignition and your windows are rolled up.
She also suggests that you park in well lit and visible areas.
Szachury notes it only takes 30-seconds for a vehicle to be stolen.
