Applications are officially open for the Government of Canada’s 2018 Canada Summer Jobs program.
The program is available for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees.
Successful applicants will be able to provide full time work over the summer for post secondary students who are planning on returning to school in the fall.
The winning applicants will be given wage subsidies.
In 2017, the Kenora riding alone, saw a total investment of $900,000 which helped to create more than 300 jobs.
When speaking about the program, Kenora MP Bob Nault says hiring a student for the summer months brings new life, energy and ideas into the workplace.
