$800 Million Settlement Agreed To By Trudeau Government

An $800 million settlement with Indigenous people who were taken away from their families as children has been agreed to by the federal government.

Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett says taking children away from their moms at such a young age caused untold damage.

The Supreme Court has ruled the residential school records can and should be destroyed.
