The $5.1 million announced will go towards housing projects in Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake as well as Kenora.
$1.19 million will be going to various phases of the Homeward Bound Project in Dryden and around $440 thousand will be used to renovate rental units at 49 King Street in Dryden.
Over in Sioux Lookout $2.55 million will go towards the Sioux Lookout Transitional Housing and Shelter project.
The Red Lake Second Stage Housing project is also seeing around $630 thousand.
“More seniors, adults with disabilities, and Indigenous people will now have a place to call home in our riding,” stated Nault. “While we still have much more to do, this investment is a step in a right direction towards providing affordable housing in our communities.”
