CKDR News Poll Weighs In On Potential Changes To Northern Provincial Political Boundaries

Provincial consultations continue on proposed changes to the political boundaries in northern Ontario.

The government is looking at creating one or two new ridings and the Kenora-Rainy River District is impacted.

Public meetings are being held in Fort Hope, Fort Severn, Attawapiskat, Moose Cree and Fort Albany First Nation's this week.

In a recent CKDR News Poll, 42-percent of respondents stated northwestern Ontario doesn't need a change in ridings.

29-percent stated one a new riding was needed, while 29-percent called for two more political ridings.
