Dryden High School instructor and Eagles Co-Coach Al Markowski has received OFSAA's highest honour.

Markowski was named the OFSAA Leadership in School Sport Award winner at the opening Boys Hockey banquet in Fort Frances Monday night.

He was named a true leader and an exceptional nominee.

Markowski played minor hockey in Fort Frances and was captain of the high school Muskies team in 1981 and 1982.

He went on to play junior hockey with the Fort Gary Blues.

Markowski has now lead the Dryden Eagles High School Golf team and built the program from the ground up.

He has mentored many athletes through the years, making several trips to OFSAA championships, and sending many of his protégés off to U.S. Colleges on golf scholarships.

Markowski received a standing ovation after accepting the award.
