Provincial Police across northwestern Ontario are raising concerns with recent false emergency calls.
OPP have had to deal with a handful of unintentional or pocket dials of the 9-1-1 service.
Constable Yenta Davidson says such calls can hinder actual investigations.
Davidson notes “we’re spending a lot of time and energy out investigating these unintentional 9-1-1 calls when that could be interfering with our ability to respond to other important calls for service.”
OPP suggest locking you device and turning off the 9-1-1 auto-dial feature on your phone.
