Grand Council Treaty #3 says it's still lobbying to have the Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women and Girls come to this region.
This week, the Inquiry is holding three days of hearings in Thunder Bay.
Grand Chief Frances Kavenaugh says their thoughts are with the families from the Treaty Three territory who are testifying this week.
Anida Ross of Kenora, the mother of Delaine Copenace, was the first person to appear before the inquiry on Monday.
Kavenaugh says they had specifically asked one of the commissioners to hold a local hearing.
